About This Position
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Compliance Data Clerk to join our Import Sourcing team. This entry-level role focuses on clerical duties related to customs compliance, supporting the department head and Customs Compliance Coordinator. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and timeliness in data entry are critical to success.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform data entry related to customs invoices, clearances, and charges
- Track and process timely Importer Security Filings (ISF) for all shipments
- Track and file consumption entries within customs software systems
- Prepare Canadian Customs 7512 bond entry packets
- Prepare documentation for Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) processes in customs systems
- Maintain organized filing systems and records
- Assist with data reports and special projects as needed

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- Previous customs or entry filing experience is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Skills and Competencies
- Basic computer proficiency (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, web browsers)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, technical procedures, and government regulations
Physical Demands
- Regular use of hands for typing and handling documents
- Frequent standing, walking, and sitting
- Occasional climbing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Ability to lift and/or move 10–15 pounds
- Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based environment
- Generally quiet setting with occasional higher noise levels
Equipment and Materials Used
- Computers and standard office equipment
- May require use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as earplugs, safety glasses, or hairnets when entering specific work areas
