This is a high-impact role where vendor strategy directly contributes to both business performance and social value creation.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and execute sourcing and vendor management strategies aligned with business goals, including cost optimization, risk mitigation, and performance improvement.
  • Manage supplier performance across a broad vendor portfolio, ensuring compliance with sourcing policies and contractual obligations.
  • Build and maintain trusted, culturally respectful relationships with Indigenous suppliers and communities, ensuring alignment with procurement inclusion objectives.
  • Conduct market and supplier analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for value creation.
  • Lead vendor performance reviews, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Support contract lifecycle management in coordination with legal and risk teams.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration between internal teams and external suppliers to ensure effective service delivery and partnership success.
  • Contribute to regional and national sourcing programs and support change management initiatives across vendor networks.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in supplier management, procurement, or vendor relationship management.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in third-party risk management or supplier governance.
  • Experience working in energy, infrastructure, or similarly complex operational environments is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience managing Indigenous vendor relationships or working within Indigenous procurement frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to interpret market and supplier data.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage sensitive or complex stakeholder conversations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead supplier performance management and change initiatives.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace tools.
  • Strong cultural awareness, emotional intelligence, and ability to work respectfully across diverse communities.
Benefits:
  • Competitive annual salary (approximately 110,000 – 135,000 CAD, depending on experience and location).
  • Flexible remote work arrangement across Alberta-based regions.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health coverage and wellbeing support.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth in procurement and sourcing.
  • Exposure to strategic, high-impact vendor and Indigenous partnership initiatives.
  • Inclusive and collaborative work culture focused on respect, diversity, and reconciliation.
  • Access to global resources and cross-functional expertise within a large international organization.
  • Participation in meaningful initiatives that combine business performance with social impact.
