General Dynamics in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide avionic mission computing systems for a wide range of military fast jets, helicopters, and UAV’s. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and stores management systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.
Job DescriptionAs a Programme or Senior Programme Manager you will work within our avionic or naval teams.
You will:
- Manage all aspects of assigned projects to achieve schedule milestones, cost targets, and performance standards whilst ensuring customer satisfaction
- Execute projects through all phases, including Bid, Development, Production, and Support, with accountability for project performance metrics
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, managing expectations and maintaining satisfaction
- Identify and pursue follow-on business opportunities across all company product areas
- Participate in bid management, coordinating cost estimates and proposal generation for new and existing business opportunities
- Achieve project financial targets (Bookings, Billings/Cash, EBIT), deliver on Contract Statement of Work (SOW), and meet company On Time Acceptable Delivery (OTAD) targets
- Have responsibility for key performance indicators such as project financial performance, the timely delivery of project milestones, customer satisfaction ratings and the generation of follow-on business opportunities
To be successful in these roles you will demonstrate your considerable experience as a Programme Manager, defence industry experience is preferred.
Also:
- Demonstrable experience of development contracts through the project life cycle
- Understanding of In-service Support Strategy desirable
- Knowledge of engineering, production, and manufacturing practices and procedures
- Achievement of the APMP qualification is desirable
- Proven experience in high technology, high regulatory environment
- Good level of interpersonal skills, negotiation, commercial / technical astuteness and judgement.
This role has a salary of between £50,560 and £80,000, dependant upon the relavent knowledge and experience you bring plus our flexible benefits package.
