About the Role:

As a Data Engineer at JSX, you’ll join a high-impact team focused on building the data foundation that powers every corner of our operation. You’ll develop and maintain data pipelines across our Databricks Lakehouse Platform—leveraging tools like Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, and Kafka streaming to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and secure. Whether you’re enabling real-time analytics or supporting AI/ML initiatives, your work will directly influence strategic decisions and elevate our Customer and Crewmember experience.


This is an on-site position based at JSX Headquarters in Dallas, TX.

A Day in the Life:
  • Design and maintain reliable data pipelines using Databricks Workflows, Spark Notebooks, and Delta Live Tables (DLT)
  • Implement data ingestion from diverse sources including flat files, relational databases, APIs, JSON, XML, etc.
  • Transform data across the Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers of the Medallion Architecture following data lakehouse best practices
  • Configure and maintain Unity Catalog for data governance, security, and metadata management
  • Create and optimize DLT tables for query performance and data management
  • Contribute to source control using GitHub and CI/CD processes
  • Manage Kafka streaming data ingestion for real-time use cases
  • Maintain secure file transfers and implement proper data security controls
  • Develop and maintain enterprise BI reports and dashboards using Power BI and/or Tableau
  • Translate business requirements into clear, actionable visualizations and KPIs
  • Build and optimize semantic models and calculated measures for consistent reporting
  • Leverage Gold-layer curated datasets to ensure trusted, production-ready reporting
  • Enable self-service analytics through well-designed dashboards and filters
  • Apply data governance and security controls (RLS, certified datasets, access permissions)
  • Optimize report performance and usability for executive and operational audiences

  • Requirements:
  • 5+ years in data engineering roles
  • Strong SQL and Python skills
  • Experience with both Spark and Databricks
  • Familiarity with modern data architectures (Data Lake, Lakehouse, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with ETL/ELT processes and design patterns
  • Understanding of data modeling and schema design
  • Local to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex, or willing to relocate
  • Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with Azure cloud services
  • Experience with data analytics and Power BI
  • Hands-on experience with Delta Lake and DLT
  • Kafka or event streaming experience (event hubs)
  • Knowledge of Data Build Tool (DBT)
  • Experience with travel industry data systems (Navitaire, Sabre, etc.)
  • Unity Catalog or data governance implementation experience
  • CI/CD implementation for data pipelines


  • Pay & Perks:

    Compensation is $130,000-$150,000 annually. This was established after performing market research and is aligned with our approach to compensation.
