About This Position
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a SDET (Wallet Platform) in Mexico.
This role is designed for an engineer who approaches quality as a core part of the software development lifecycle rather than a separate function. As an SDET, you will design and own test infrastructure supporting critical financial systems such as payment flows, identity verification pipelines, and card transaction processing. Working within a fast-paced engineering team, you will ensure that speed and reliability coexist by building robust automated testing frameworks and embedding quality into the development process from the start. The position combines deep technical work with cross-functional collaboration, enabling you to influence architecture, testing strategy, and release reliability. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who enjoy solving complex system challenges while ensuring highly reliable financial products at scale.
Own end-to-end test coverage for wallet platform features, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test suites for both new and existing functionality.
Conduct manual and exploratory testing to validate feature behavior before release.
Contribute to and improve shared automation frameworks to support high-quality engineering workflows.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure consistent execution across pull requests and deployments.
Define and document quality standards within the team while identifying gaps in test coverage and potential risks.
Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to clarify acceptance criteria and embed testing early in the development cycle.
Monitor test reliability, identify flaky tests, and drive continuous improvements to testing infrastructure and processes.
Requirements:
Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Go.
Experience designing and building test frameworks or automation infrastructure from the ground up.
Solid experience with API testing, including REST APIs, webhooks, retries, idempotency, and integration edge cases.
Working knowledge of databases and SQL, including creating test data and managing test environments.
Familiarity with testing financial systems such as payment flows, ledger systems, or compliance pipelines is highly desirable.
Understanding of distributed systems concepts including eventual consistency, double-spend prevention, and event-driven architectures.
Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
Comfortable working in cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and analyzing logs or traces to diagnose issues.
Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyze system failure modes and translate them into effective test strategies.
Benefits:
Opportunity to work on infrastructure powering financial transactions for millions of users worldwide.
High-impact engineering role with ownership over testing architecture and product reliability.
Remote-friendly work environment with a distributed engineering team.
Collaborative culture where quality is treated as a core engineering responsibility.
Exposure to modern fintech systems and complex distributed architectures.
Inclusive workplace that values diverse perspectives and encourages professional growth.
