Position Summary
The Renewable Gas Field Service Technician operates, maintains, and troubleshoots renewable gas systems and equipment across multiple facilities. This role demands high physical mobility, rapid response to malfunctions, safety risks, and hazardous conditions—including severe weather—and requires short-notice travel to ensure site safety and operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and monitor renewable gas compression and decompression facilities, including rotating equipment, compressors, gas monitoring and metering systems, gas delivery systems, and pipeline injection equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and system malfunctions to identify root causes and perform repairs, maintenance, or component replacements as needed.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment including compressors, pumps, and associated systems.
- Maintain, modify, and repair instrumentation and control equipment such as recorders, flowmeters, analyzers, and other monitoring devices.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact, assisting with coordination of daily operations, maintenance activities, and overall facility performance.
- Record, monitor, and analyze operational data to ensure the plant is operating within specifications and performance targets.
- Prepare and provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports detailing operational trends, system availability, and production levels.
- Collect samples for testing and maintain required operational and compliance records.
- Assist with implementing process control improvements and operational methods to increase plant efficiency and reliability.
- Respond promptly to urgent operational issues such as gas leaks, equipment failures, or weather-related disruptions to protect safety and system integrity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility environment.
- Perform additional duties and project work as assigned.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to established safety protocols in industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems with maintenance experience involving plant instrumentation, analyzers, pumps, compressors, conveyors, and mechanical screw systems.
- Basic knowledge of PLC systems including Analog and Digital I/O and RTD probes.
- Basic electrical knowledge including 24V DC, 120V AC, and 480V AC systems, with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting of 480V motors and VFDs.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&ID drawings, and other technical documentation.
- Ability to understand and follow technical procedures, work instructions, and operational processes.
- Experience with wastewater operations, process plants, or gas processing systems preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess issues, evaluate alternatives, and recommend effective solutions.
- Ability to gather and communicate technical information clearly, professionally, and accurately.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities, prioritizing tasks, and demonstrating a high degree of self-motivation and initiative.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical agility and endurance required for industrial environments, including climbing stairs and ladders, working in confined spaces, and navigating uneven terrain.
- Strong situational awareness and the ability to remain composed in hazardous or time-sensitive environments.

- 20% SC Pet, SC facility
- 20% Dublin, GA facility
- 50% Travel to other facilities located in the PD region of S.C. (Sumter, Hartsville, Effingham)
- 10% Remote
- 4+ years of experience with industrial equipment
- 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance
- Valid U.S. work authorization
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts
- On-call rotation for after-hours/weekends
- Primary location: facilities in S.C. and G.A.
- Occasional travel to other facilities (~10%)
