About This Position

Job Purpose:

Join our team as a Corporate Security Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization’s assets and ensuring a safe and secure environment for our employees and clients. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement effective security measures and respond proactively to potential risks. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining our company’s integrity and resilience.

Duties:

  • Serve as both corporate FSO in a multiple facility organization (MFO) and as the site FSO for our Huntsville, AL location.
  • Hire, lead, and manage team; oversee their professional development; and align team and individual goals with business objectives by providing strategic direction and guidance.
  • Serve as the Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITSPO).
  • Develop and implement corporate security policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses of company facilities and operations.
  • Monitor and oversee access control systems and procedures to ensure the protection of company assets.
  • Coordinate and manage security and trade compliance personnel, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Investigate security breaches, incidents, and other alarming events to determine causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with DCSA to ensure compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Special Security Agreement (SSA), and other security requirements.
  • Serve as key advisor to the Government Security Committee (a subcommittee of the board of directors)
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency response teams during incidents or emergencies.
  • Develop and manage budgets for security operations, ensuring cost-effective protection measures.
  • Conduct security audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan and conduct security awareness training for employees to promote a culture of security mindfulness.
  • Maintain and update security equipment and technology, ensuring they are functional and up-to-date.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Prepare and present detailed security reports to senior management.
  • Stay informed about new security technologies and industry trends to enhance security measures.
  • Coordinate with IT department to ensure cybersecurity measures align with physical security practices.
  • Manage and oversee the security of sensitive information and data throughout the organization.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate security or a similar role, with at least 5 years as FSO.
  • Current, active Secret clearance, able to upgrade to Top Secret.
  • Strong knowledge of NISPOM requirements.
  • Experience in FOCI-mitigated company (SSA experience preferred).
  • Experience with TS, COMSEC, and SAP requirements preferred.
  • Experience working in an MFO, ideally in a leadership role.
  • Experience with insider threat programs, ITPSO preferred.
  • Working knowledge of trade compliance (ITAR, EAR, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of physical security protocols and emergency response procedures.
  • Experience with security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and threat analysis methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with security regulations and compliance standards.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
  • Certification in security management (e.g., CPP, PSP) preferred.
