About This Position
Hematology Oncology Physician
• Serve as the attending for inpatient, outpatient, and consultation services.
• Evaluate complete history and physical examinations.
• Order relevant laboratory studies.
• Supervise and assist midlevel providers and ancillary health personnel.
• Acquire material from all orifices from venous blood, fluid collection, and localized abscesses.
• Perform arterial puncture and bone marrow biopsies.
• Perform peer reviews as requested.
• Provide services in the following patient care areas: Outpatient Hematology/Oncology Clinic and Continuous Infusion Unit, inpatient consults, ER, ICU, Telemetry, General Medicine Ward, and General Surgical Ward.
• Educate and supervise health profession trainees:
• Create an academic environment conducive to training and professional development of HPTs.
• Meet educational objectives of the training program as outlined in the agreement.
• Supervise Physician, Dental, Optometry, Chiropractic, and Podiatry Residents.
• Oversee HPT acquisition and provide periodic evaluation.• Board Certification. Must be board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Oncology OR Hematology.
• Licensure. Must have current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia.
• Other Certification: DEA and BLS
$650,000 - $650,000 a year
Schedule: Mon-Fri 8A-4:30P.
On-call coverage 4:30P-8A. All weekends and federal holidays require 24-hr on-call coverage.
