Description:

American Community Bank & Trust (ACBT), the largest locally owned bank in McHenry County, is seeking a Marketing Director, to define brand and creative vision, optimize marketing workflows, and develop cross-functional, market-ready programs with Private Client, Commercial, Treasury and Relationship teams. In this role, you'll lead high-impact initiatives that drive deposits, product and service adoption, and client loyalty - combining strategic leadership with hands-on execution; you will directly strengthen and reinforce ACBT's collaborative, high-performance culture. This role offers executive visibility and the autonomy to sharpen the bank's market differentiation. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Strategic Marketing Leadership

  • Represent marketing in executive planning; set annual objectives and 90-day tactics.
  • Define growth KPIs, reporting cadence, an lead audits, ideation and benchmarking.

Demand Generation & Data

  • Design and execute integrated campaigns across commercial, wealth, and consumer segments to drive products and services (i.e. deposits, HNW acquisition, digital adoption, client education).
  • Own CRM, attribution, and dashboards; deliver weekly/monthly insights and use analytics to optimize targeting, channel mix (brand, digital, email, CRM, paid, SEO/SEM) and ROI.

Product & Revenue Enablement

  • Partner with Private Client, Commercial, Treasury, ACWM, and Relationship teams on go-to-market (GTM) plans, events and sales enablement.
  • Ensure collateral and campaigns communicate value and produce measurable outcomes.

Brand, Creative & Communications

  • Set brand/creative standards; improve workflow and production quality.
  • Approve client-facing materials for regulatory compliance and audit readiness; lead PR and external communications with executive leadership alignment.

Operations, Vendors & Budget

  • Set, manage and report the annual marketing budget and forecast.
  • Select/manage strategic vendors and major projects (annual report, website, platform migrations); delegate tasks to direct reports/vendors.

Team & Culture

  • Recruit, mentor and develop a high-performing team; align cross-functionality with revenue teams to support business objectives.
  • Lead employer-brand, internal communication, employee events, and recruitment marketing; partner with HR on culture and engagement, and initiatives.

This role may include participation in professional development and community outreach activities, as well as other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA or advanced marketing credentials preferred.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of progressive marketing experience, including at least 3 years leading strategy and managing teams.
  • Proven track record in financial services or other regulated industries preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM/marketing automation platforms, analytics, dashboarding tools, and SEO/SEM best practices.
  • Demonstrated success managing vendors, agencies, and cross-functional projects; familiarity with regulatory review processes preferred.
