About This Position

Akira Technologies is seeking a System Administrator with hands-on experience managing Windows Server environments and demonstrated experience serving as the primary Enterprise Security Suite (ESS) administrator supporting HBSS, McAfee, or Trellix platforms. The selected candidate will provide short-term onsite support to maintain system stability, security posture, and operational continuity within a classified environment.

This is a 3-month onsite contract assignment in Norfolk, VA requiring an active Top Secret clearance at the time of hire.

Job Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and support Windows Server environments within a secure enterprise infrastructure.
  • Serve as the primary administrator for Enterprise Security Suite (ESS) platforms including HBSS, McAfee Suite, or Trellix.
  • Configure, manage, and maintain ESS policies, signatures, dashboards, and agent deployments across the enterprise.
  • Monitor ESS alerts, logs, and system performance to identify anomalies, threats, or compliance gaps and coordinate remediation activities.
  • Perform installation, configuration, patching, and lifecycle support of Windows Server systems.
  • Support vulnerability remediation efforts and maintain system security posture in accordance with DoD cybersecurity requirements.
  • Generate reports and metrics related to system health, ESS status, and enterprise security posture.
  • Support audit readiness activities and cybersecurity inspections.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity teams, network engineers, and mission stakeholders to maintain operational continuity.
  • Assist with incident response activities involving endpoint security tools.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and operational changes to ensure continuity during and after the contract period.

Job Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • 3–5 years of experience administering Windows Server environments
  • Demonstrated experience serving as the primary administrator of an Enterprise Security Suite (ESS) platform
  • Hands-on administration experience with HBSS, McAfee ePO / McAfee Suite, and Trellix endpoint security tools
  • Experience deploying policies, managing agents, monitoring alerts, and maintaining ESS infrastructure
  • Experience supporting systems in classified or DoD environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a short-term, mission-focused support role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting RMF / DoD cybersecurity compliance frameworks
  • Experience with Active Directory Group Policy administration
  • Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 / 8140 certification

Salary Range: $90,000 to $115,000

Akira’s pay range for this position considers various factors including skills, years of experience, training, licenses, certifications, alignment with market data, and internal equity in the organization.
