About This Position

The Transportation General Manager will manage multiple locations within dedicated customers. This individual will build and maintain relationships with our drivers, managers, and customers, as well as develop strategies that improve productivity and improve profits. In addition, this position will manage employees assigned to the assigned locations. Other requirements will be managing the P&L for each location to budget and continually improving processes that result in improvement opportunities to reduce customer costs. May manage one or more Department/Terminal Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multi-facility P&L accountability and operations management & oversight
  • Operate multi facility account performance management & reporting
  • Customer satisfaction & Relationship management
  • Project management and Implementation of strategic initiatives for both internal and external customers
  • Supervise staff for assigned accounts (Hire, promote, coach, develop, performance management)
  • Encourage new business development growth
  • Manage turnover
  • Maintain driver relationships
  • Manage KPI’s for all employees
  • ⁠Support and promote a Safety 1st culture

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and electronically
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and always-changing environment
  • Ability to manage people successfully
  • Exhibit data analysis skills to continually improve processes that will result in opportunities to reduce operational and customer costs.

Education/Experience

  • Lean Certification or other CPI certifications preferred
  • 8+ years management experience in Transportation & Logistics required
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or 8+ years equivalent work experience

The posted range reflects the full pay band for the position. The expected pay range below represents where most candidates are hired, based on experience, skills, and internal equity. Candidates with more extensive or highly relevant experience may be considered toward the higher end of the overall pay band.

  • Expected Pay Range: $72,155.00-$82,977.91
  • Full Pay Range: $72,155.00-$118,120.00
  • Pay Grade: 11
