Harmoniq Residential is looking for a collaborative, detail-oriented problem solver to join our third-party Residential Property Management team as a full-time Property Accountant at our downtown Milwaukee office. This role is ideal for someone with a few years of accounting experience who is ready to deepen their skills in residential property accounting within a supportive, team-focused environment.

As a Property Accountant, you will work closely with our Property Management team to deliver accurate, timely accounting services and financial reporting for our residential real estate clients. You will play a key role in supporting both our internal teams and our ownership groups by ensuring financial information is complete, reliable, and easy to understand.

In this role, you will build positive, ongoing relationships with property managers and clients through the delivery of essential accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, cash management, bank reconciliations, general ledger activity, and monthly financial reporting. You will assist with the preparation of annual property budgets, rent rolls, and year-end reporting while helping maintain strong internal controls and accounting best practices.

What you’ll do

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable accurately and on time
  • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain general ledger activity and prepare monthly financial statements
  • Partner with property managers to support day-to-day accounting needs
  • Assist with annual budgets and year-end financial reporting
  • Support audits and owner reporting as needed
  • Contribute to process improvement and efficiency within the accounting team
Requirements:

What we’re looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
  • 2 to 5 years of accounting experience, with property accounting experience a plus
  • Experience with Yardi or another property management accounting system preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a natural ability to reconcile and problem-solve
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Clear, professional communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • A team-oriented approach and willingness to learn and grow
