Maintenance Apprentice at LIVEbe – Greenbelt, Maryland

The purpose of the Maintenance Apprentice position is to provide on-the-job training for an individual who is interested in a career in the multi-family maintenance field. The incumbent will be provided a structured training program and mentorship to gain knowledge and skills to further their development in maintenance field. This program will include training in all essential functions of position.

Training to include:

• How to accurately complete maintenance request tickets. Skills trainings to include: general repairs; plumbing repairs, carpentry, drywall repairs, general electrical repairs.
• How to identify and troubleshoot HVAC issues.
• Knowledge on preventative maintenance.
• Fair housing, customer service training.
• Apartment make ready/ punch out process.
• Learn how to work with property management software system.
• How to maintain apartment community grounds and common areas.
• Will assist maintenance team with snow removal and other weather/ emergency clean up.

Skills and Abilities Required:

• Desire to provide excellent customer service skills.
• Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Must be able to life weight in excess of 40 lbs.
• A variety of physical activity required in performing maintenance tasks to include but are not limited to: standing; stooping; bending; crawling; reaching; walking; and climbing stairs.
• Must have a valid driver's license and proof of motor vehicle to be used on premises.
