Position SummaryThe Service Technician III (Senior Technician) is a highly skilled field professional responsible for advanced diagnostics, complex repairs, system upgrades, and leadership within the Service Department. This role serves as the technical expert in the field and plays a key role in mentoring technicians, improving service standards, and supporting operational efficiency.
Service Technician III team members operate with minimal supervision, manage high-level service calls, and contribute to training, quality control, and revenue growth initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform advanced diagnostics and complex repairs on pool systems
Troubleshoot and repair pumps, heaters, filters, automation systems, plumbing, and electrical components
Diagnose leak detection and structural issues
Complete equipment installations and system upgrades
Manage high-priority or escalated service calls
Oversee and support Service Technician I and II team members in the field
Provide hands-on training and mentorship to developing technicians
Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and quality standards
Identify revenue opportunities including equipment replacements and service upgrades
Maintain detailed documentation, estimates, and service reports
Support leadership with workflow improvements and operational feedback
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
4+ years of pool service or related mechanical experience
Advanced troubleshooting and repair expertise
Strong understanding of plumbing and basic electrical systems
Ability to lift 50–75 lbs
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Preferred:
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or equivalent certification
Experience with automation systems and advanced pool controls
Experience training or leading technicians
Strong customer-facing communication skills
Advanced water chemistry knowledge
Electrical troubleshooting (low voltage & system controls)
Plumbing and leak diagnostics
Heater and automation repair
Equipment installation and system retrofits
Route efficiency and service optimization
