Retail Associate – Garden Center at FIVE OAKS FARMS INC – Wilmington, North Carolina

The Garden Center Associate is an entry-level, customer-facing position responsible for supporting daily retail operations. This role assists customers, operates the register, restocks merchandise, waters plants, and helps maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming garden center. The Associate works alongside Plant Advisors to ensure shoppers have a positive and efficient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and helpful manner
  
• Operate cash register and process sales transactions
  
• Restock plants, pottery, soils, and other merchandise
  
• Water and care for plants as directed
  
• Help load customer purchases into vehicles when needed
  
• Maintain clean, organized sales areas and displays
  
• Answer basic customer questions and direct them to Plant Advisors when needed
  
• Assist with receiving shipments and general store upkeep

• Positive attitude and strong customer service skills
  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
  
• Willingness to learn about plants and garden products
  
• Basic math skills and comfort handling cash transactions
  
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work on feet for extended periods
  
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
  
• Weekend availability during peak season
  
• Prior retail experience is a plus but not required
• Prior Garden Center/Nursery experience is a huge plus
