About This Position

Registered Nurse - Cardiac Intensive Care Nights

Valleywise Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse to join our team of healthcare professionals. As an CVICU Nurse, you will provide specialized, high-acuity care to critically ill patients, utilizing advanced monitoring techniques, life-saving interventions, and evidence-based practices. You will play a key role in stabilizing patients, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. Strongly prefer those with Cardiac ICU or Cardiac Stepdown experience.
Hourly Pay Rate: $35.52 - $52.39
Eligible for a night shift differential of 18% and weekend shift differential of 8% of the employee’s base rate of pay.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing.
Experience:
  • Must have at least one (1) year of recent acute care hospital RN experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, or if completed the New Grad RN program at Valleywise Health, then must have at least one year of Valleywise Health experience as an RN and be in good standing.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for the current state of practice.
  • Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
  • Requires a BLS card obtained through the American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
  • Must obtain ACLS upon hire or transfer.
  • Must obtain National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within six (6) months of hire; TNCC, ATCN, or TCAR within 12 months of hire.
  • Critical Care Certified Nurse (CCRN) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer successfully.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
