Summary:
The Production Supervisor position is responsible for supervising Curbs/Adapters employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. The Production Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and compliance to company safety policies while producing a high-quality product.
Essential Functions:
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.
  • Manage department priorities.
  • Verify all equipment safety features are operating properly at beginning of shift; report any features that are not working properly to Production Manager.
  • Observe & Comply with all PPE & other safety requirements.
  • Review work instructions, prints and routers for each job.
  • Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.
  • Utilize measuring devices such as protractor, vernier calipers, micrometer, thickness gage, machinist square, etc. to check and verify accuracy of work.
  • Work with team leader and others to maximize productivity & efficiency.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance conducted of machines and tooling as required.
  • Thorough understanding of sheet metal handling SAFETY.
  • Capable of reading part drawings and understanding tolerance requirements.
  • Capable of safely lifting 50 pounds without the use of lifting equipment.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Report machine and tooling problems to Production Manager.
  • Maintenance of and safeguarding of personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Perform accident investigations.
  • Recognize and mitigate safety hazards in assigned areas.
  • Recommend drawing changes, equipment changes or improvements, reduce setup time and tooling costs.
  • Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
  • Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
  • Other duties as assigned by Production Manager.

Qualifications:
  • Must be capable of using common measuring equipment for sheet metal. REQUIRED
  • Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings and process instructions. REQUIRED
  • High school diploma or GED REQUIRED.
  • Ability to distinguish material types, including aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel. REQUIRED
  • Demonstrated reliability, i.e. attendance, process conformance. REQUIRED
  • Willingness to participate in continuous improvement activities. REQUIRED
  • 3+ years of experience in a production leadership position. DESIRED
  • 2 years CNC machine experience. DESIRED
Safety/Physical requirements:
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Requires bending, stooping, and standing.
  • Must be able to stand from six (6) to eight (8) hours pr day. (Overtime may extend time period.)
  • Good visual and spatial perception.
  • Follow established safety policies including, but not limited to, mobile equipment, PPE, emergency response, HAZCOM, first-aid response, etc.
