Restorative Aide at Catholic Care Center – Bel Aire, Kansas

POSITION SUMMARY
Provide restorative nursing services to assist or promote the residents' ability to attain the
highest practicable level of physical functioning and self-care. Restorative nursing activities
include, but are not limited to, range of motion, training and skill practice in transfer, eating,
walking, toileting, and grooming activities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Receives plans of treatment from PT's, OT's and SLP's to follow for designated
residents.
 Documents programs provided and progress toward goals per ministry guidelines.
 Provides nursing care as assigned in a safe manner, consistent with the policies and
procedures of the community.
 Reports resident changes in conditions to Charge Nurse and/or Supervisor.
 Works cooperatively with residents, families, and other members of the resident care
team.
 Provides direct resident care as assigned including answering call lights, giving routine
care, taking participants to and from the dining room and activities, serving meals,
assisting with feeding, bathing and transferring participants, and cleaning resident
environment.
 Maintains compliance with infection control, personal protection equipment, blood-borne
pathogens, hazardous material handling and fire safety standards. Properly handles
and disposes of soiled linens, trash and hazardous materials.

 Other duties as assigned.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
 N/A

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
 GED or a High School Diploma is preferred.
 Completion of Restorative Aide training required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
 Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in the state in which employed.
 CPR certified preferred.

 Must possess strong collaborative, interpersonal, organizational, multi-tasking, verbal
and written communication skills, and a desire to create a high-performance, effective
team that can produce consistent, demonstrated results.
 Must demonstrate on an ongoing basis the ability to develop and maintain good working
relationships with co-workers and ministry leadership.
 The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and concisely on
oral and written form.
 Competencies needed for this position include strong interpersonal relationship skills,
detail oriented, work in collaboration with others, demonstrate a high degree of integrity
and personal commitment, possess strong analytical skills, be able to work
independently and manage multiple deliverables at the same time.
 Ability to function in a matrix environment and demonstrate a passion to succeed, be
self-motivated, dependable, committed, and a willingness to see a project through to its
conclusion.
 Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
