About This Position
Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of a small distribution warehouse, ensuring accurate, timely, and safe handling of materials and customer orders. This is a hands-on role that partners closely with the local delivery driver and the onsite supply chain team to support efficient inbound and outbound logistics. While this position does not currently have direct reports, it plays a key role in coordinating workflows, maintaining inventory accuracy, and serving as the primary point of contact for warehouse activities at the Philadelphia facility.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Distribution Operations
- Perform and oversee daily warehouse activities, including receiving, order picking, staging, loading, and shipping.
- Coordinate outbound deliveries with the local delivery driver to ensure accurate and on-time shipments.
- Support inbound freight receiving and unloading.
- Maintain accurate inventory through proper receiving, labeling, storage, and cycle counting.
- Ensure the warehouse remains organized, clean, and efficient.
Coordination & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner closely with the supply chain team located on-site to support planning, order flow, and inventory needs.
- Communicate daily priorities, delivery schedules, and issues with the delivery driver.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for warehouse-related questions and issues.
- Coordinate with transportation, procurement, and customer service teams as needed.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Promote and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure safe operation of forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety standards.
- Participate in safety meetings and incident reporting.
Systems & Process Management
- Utilize NetSuite to process receipts, shipments, and inventory adjustments.
- Maintain accurate documentation for shipments and deliveries.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, space utilization, and workflow.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives as the operation grows.
Required
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical training preferred
3–5 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations
Hands-on experience with receiving, shipping, picking, loading, and inventory control
Forklift experience and ability to operate material handling equipment safely
Working knowledge of inventory systems or WMS/ERP platforms (NetSuite experience a plus)
Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices and OSHA requirements
Ability to work independently and take ownership of daily warehouse operations
Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with drivers, supply chain, and cross-functional partners
Preferred
Prior lead or supervisor experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
Experience supporting small or standalone warehouse operations
Familiarity with cycle counting and inventory accuracy programs
Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify and implement process improvements
