Position Summary
ANSER is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to serve as a technical authority and trusted advisor across enterprise data, governance, and digital transformation initiatives. In this role you will lead the design, modernization, and governance of complex information systems while bridging strategic program management with hands-on technical execution. You will support federal and corporate clients by driving data architecture, compliance, and AI-enabled solutions while mentoring technical teams and ensuring delivery excellence.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end data modeling across relational, NoSQL, and hybrid environments
  • Reverse engineer legacy systems to identify and implement modernization solutions
  • Design scalable data architectures, pipelines, and integration strategies
  • Develop current-state and future-state architectures using ERD, BPMN, and related methods
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder coordination using PMP best practices
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies and serve as Scrum Master and/or Product Owner proxy
  • Develop and maintain project documentation including charters, WBS, and risk registers
  • Design and implement enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, and stewardship models
  • Establish data ownership, quality metrics, lineage tracking, and compliance reporting
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual data requirements
  • Operationalize AI data governance, including validation of sensitive data usage and audit support
  • Develop and enforce data rights strategies, including licensing and subcontractor flow-downs
  • Implement data rightsaware ML pipelines with provenance and usage tracking
  • Support CMMC 2.0 and ISO 27001 compliance, including audits and control implementation
  • Architect and develop SharePoint solutions, including workflows, UX, and governance policies
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers

Required Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in systems engineering, enterprise architecture, or related fields supporting federal and/or corporate clients
  • PMP certification (active) with experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs
  • Agile Scrum certification (CSM, PSM, or SAFe) with hands-on Agile delivery experience
  • Experience in data modeling, reverse engineering legacy systems, and modernizing data architectures
  • Working knowledge of CMMC 2.0 and ISO 27001 standards, including audit or assessment support
  • SharePoint development experience (Online and/or on-premises), including Power Platform and governance implementation
  • Experience with AI prompt engineering, custom GPT development, and agentic workflows (e.g., OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and associated governance tools
  • Prior experience leading multi-year federal IT programs (DoD, DHS, or civilian agencies)
  • Familiarity with DoD CDAO AI strategy, Responsible AI principles, and AI lifecycle management
  • Active DoD Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance
