About This Position

Reporting to: Senior Manager, Overnight Walk

Location: Chicago or NYC based

POSITION SUMMARY:


The Out of the Darkness Walk Coach is the front-line customer relations representative for the Out of the Darkness Walk series, and is responsible for meeting and exceeding recruitment, retention, and fundraising goals. The Walker Coach works under the supervision of the Manager of the Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Out of the Darkness walk participants to increase fundraising and retention outcomes by providing excellent customer service, and technical, fundraising, training, and event support
  • Conduct sales communications with the goal of converting leads (RFIs) to walk The Overnight using designated sales procedures and protocols
  • Host fundraising workshops and informational meetings (via phone, webinar, and in-person)
  • Oversees all Overnight Training Walks
  • Assist in logistics to help walk events run smoothly from start to finish
  • Assist the Out of the Darkness Community Walks and Walks team to increase fundraising and retention outcomes by providing excellent customer service, and technical, fundraising, training, and event support
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required

Experience and/or Training Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word and Excel), Google Drive Suite, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database systems; Comfortable conducting internet research; Basic HTML & web editing

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds while moving files or small packages. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

This is a fully remote position with travel to the Overnight event and on occasion to the National Office in NYC. Resources will be provided in establishing a home office. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


Pay Rate and Hours

$22 an hour | 35-40 hours a week
