Job Summary: 

Voyager Technologies is seeking an Energetics Manufacturing Supervisor to lead cutting edge rocket propulsion and energetic materials operations that directly support national defense and advanced aerospace programs. This is a rare opportunity to step into a hands on leadership role within a highly specialized manufacturing environment where precision, safety, and performance matter every day.

The Supervisor will oversee daily production across energetics and propulsion manufacturing, including energetic material processing, propellant formulation, component assembly, and testing. You will be entrusted with ensuring operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in strict alignment with quality systems and regulatory requirements while driving throughput and operational excellence.

In this role, you will lead and mentor a highly skilled team of operators and technicians, set daily production priorities, and serve as a visible leader on the floor. You will shape a culture rooted in safety discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement, with the ability to make a tangible impact on mission critical programs and the people who support them.

Responsibilities: 

  • This job requires working with explosives. Teamwork and leadership is especially important in all aspects of the job as we strive for safety.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and coach production employees to meet safety, quality, and output targets for the assigned area.
  • Execute production schedule, adjusting staffing and priorities as needed to meet delivery requirements.
  • Monitor production processes and product quality; ensure adherence to work instructions, SOPs, and applicable statutory, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Enforce safety policies, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure prompt reporting and investigation of incidents and near-misses.
  • Identify and resolve production issues (equipment, material, methods) in collaboration with maintenance, engineering, and quality.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (scrap, throughput, downtime, rework) and lead corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Participate in and lead 5S, lean, or continuous improvement activities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Conduct and coordinate employee training, cross-training, and on-boarding; provide regular performance feedback and participate in evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure accurate completion of production records, logs, and ERP/MES transactions for materials, labor, and scrap.
  • Support audits and customer visits and uphold company policies, procedures, and values on the production floor.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of energetic material handling and hazardous production operations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Solid understanding of quality documentation, safety plans, and process control procedures.
  • Proficiency with manufacturing and documentation systems (ERP, MES, or traveler systems).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and process flow documentation.
  • Demonstrated skill in risk assessment, incident response, and procedural enforcement.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage priorities in a safety-critical environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Solid problem-solving and root-cause analysis abilities; comfortable making decisions under time pressure.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing technology, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in energetics, propulsion, or aerospace manufacturing environments, including a minimum 5 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain State and Federal explosives licenses, including:
    • Be 21 years of age or older.
    • Pass pre-employment drug test.
    • Pass State and Federal background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in defense, aerospace, munitions, mining, or chemical manufacturing inIn-depth knowledge of energetic material handling, rocket motor assembly, and hazardous production operations.
  • Certified in or trained on OSHA safety, DoD Explosives Safety, and ISO 9001 internal auditing.
  • Experience with automated manufacturing systems
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and six sigma methodologies.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and solve complex problems from first principles with minimal supervision, both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Direct daily activities of Operators and Technicians in assigned work areas.
  • Train personnel in operating procedures, safety protocols, and technical tasks.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and recommend advancement, corrective action, or additional training as needed.
