We are seeking a full-time, experienced Circulating Registered Nurse to work in the Operating Room at our Ambulatory Surgery Center in Louisville, KY. Our nurses play a critical role in taking care of our patients throughout pre, post and intra-operative care.
The ideal candidate:
- Strong working knowledge of how to run a code, start IVs, and support difficult airways, with the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Demonstrates ability to quickly assess and problem solve complex situations.
- A commitment to the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient centered care.
Responsibilities
- Provide comfort and reassurance to patients and support the patients’ right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
- Confirm that proper techniques and procedures are used according to accepted standards of practice.
- Use a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to patient care, assisting surgeons and surgical teams to care for a patient before, during, and after surgery.
- Perform thorough pre-operative patient assessment required in the outpatient setting.
- Perform safe and individualized nursing care for the patient in the immediate post-operative/post-anesthesia period.
- Perform thorough post-operative patient assessment prior to discharge of the patient.
- Perform discharge education to patient and care giver.
- Provide nursing care to meet patient needs related to surgical condition and type of anesthesia administered.
- Documenting all aspects of patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical records system.
- Assists in managing inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels in the postoperative area.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, values, and strategies of CPIhealth.

Requirements:- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Kentucky.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- 2 years of hospital or ASC experience in perioperative nursing, including pretesting, pre-operative, and post-operative care preferred.
- 2 years of experience working in an Operating Room or Emergency Room preferred.
- Detailed oriented, reliable, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia, and perioperative nursing protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients and their families.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems and other medical software.
Pay Rate: $36/hour and up, DOE
Schedule: 30+ hours per week, 4-5 days per week
No weekends, evenings, or on-call.
