About This Position
Position Overview:
The Construction Lead must have background working in new construction, expansions, or repairs and maintenance projects. The qualified individual should have background in swine and agricultural buildings.
This role will also involve leading a team of 1-3 individuals in construction technician roles. This position is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking to take their skillset and career to the next level and contribute to the growth and success of our company.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Will be assigned a list of existing barn clients and are responsible for taking ownership of assigned accounts.
- Field phone calls for assigned clients
- Troubleshoot clients’ problems, taking the best course of action to address their issue in a timely and prompt manner
- Ensuring all work orders are addressed efficiently and have excellent communication with client and manager on status of work orders
- Responsible to manage, oversee, and direct crew members activities
- Ensure direct reports are getting projects completed to company/management’s standards.
- Efficiently manage time spent at locations looking for all areas that may need attention while at the site
- Take a proactive approach on repairs and complete preventative maintenance
- Enforce and educate on biosecurity policies-showering in and out of facilities, disinfecting tools, following proper downtime, etc.
- Teach, train, develop, and evaluate direct reports on work activities
- Make sure daily log is filled out accurately for all team members and self
- Manage inventory used for projects
- Take part in all types of projects including new construction, expansions, repairs and maintenance at all types of facilities
- Take direct responsibility for work needing to be completed, be active in the physical work
- Excellent communication with management and crew members
- Schedule and complete bi-annual sow farm walkthroughs with management
- Assist with other areas of the business as needed

Requirements:Education and Experience
- 2 years in a construction/maintenance and repairs role with proven leadership ability
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and insurable by WFR insurance
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in Spanish (preferred)
- Ability to manage a team
- Results driven
- Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot
- Mechanically minded

- Strong integrity
- Ability to lift a minimum of 100 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk and be on feet for 8 to 10 hours a day

Work Environment
- Schedule: four-day work week, additional hours expected as needed. Nights and weekends as needed. Will be on an on-call schedule. Must work a minimum of 80 hours per pay period.
- Environment: indoors and outdoors, hog farms, construction sites. Nosie level is usually moderate to loud. All tools and equipment needed for the job will be provided.
- Travel: Will travel to work sites and occasional trainings. Company vehicle will be provided to get to work sites.
