Responsibilities
Position Overview: Assist individuals with temporary disabilities in obtaining volunteer work during transitional periods (weeks to months)
- Contacts various organizations (email or soft phone) to determine/confirm their current or future volunteer needs.
- Establishes and maintains working relationships with injured workers, employers, nonprofit organizations, and insurance contacts.
- Evaluates individuals’ abilities and match them to appropriate volunteer assignments.
- Informs workers of their volunteer assignment, tasks required and timeclock information.
- Prepares workers for orientation interview and their volunteer assignment.
- Maintains nonprofit’s contact information.
- Prepares, edits, and sends confidential documents.
- Confirms workers initial attendance and continued on-going participation in program.
- Resolves any ongoing time tracking concerns or performance issues.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) a plus.
- Experience working with non-profits is a plus
- Must have strong written and communication skills, and high comfort level connecting with various organizations via phone or email.
- Solid computer ability needed, including use of Microsoft Outlook/Word, Google, Maps, etc.
- Attention to detail.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize deadlines
