Position Title: Dental Office Receptionist
Department: Front Office / Administration
Location: La Jolla, CA
Reports To: Office Manager / Lead Dentist
Schedule: M-F 7am to 4pm
Compensation: $25 to $30 per hour, DOE
Benefits: Medical, In-hour Dental, Vision, PTO, Holidays, Sick, and 401k
The Dental Administrative Assistant is responsible for managing front office operations, ensuring efficient patient flow, and providing excellent customer service. This role supports both patients and the dental team by handling scheduling, billing, and administrative tasks in a fast-paced dental practice.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner
Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed
Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and handle correspondence
Verify insurance coverage and process claims
Collect payments, manage billing, and explain treatment costs
Coordinate patient flow to ensure timely appointments
Assist with treatment planning and follow-up communications
Maintain office supplies and ensure front desk organization
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Previous experience in a dental or medical office (preferred)
Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures (preferred)
Proficiency with dental practice management software
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Attention to detail and accuracy in administrative tasks
