Brief: The Echo Technician performs diagnostic quality ultrasound studies of the heart and great vessels. The technician works independently but works closely with the Cardiologists' and their staff. The technician assumes responsibility for professional growth and development by learning and refining scanning techniques, measurements, and preliminary interpretations. All team members of Southeast Georgia Health System will promote a culture of safety, follow established policies, and adhere to all state and federal regulatory requirements and national patient safety standards

Detailed:

Responds appropriately to “Stats”, “ASAP” and “Today” requests for cardiac ultrasound studies.

Consistently obtains every view with quantitative landmarks in each view.

Operates equipment safely and keeps it in working order. Troubleshoots simple problems.

Recognizes and reports life-threatening ultrasound findings.

Measures echoes according to protocol. Prepares reports and video for physician review.

Complies with time and attendance protocol. Prepares reports and video for physician review.

Additional duties as assigned by management.
