Job:
Research Assistant/Lab Manager (Neuroscience)This is a full time position (35hrs/week) to carry out the duties of a laboratory manager for Professor Bath's Neuroscience lab.Job Description:
The lab manager will assist with the following: Rodent colony maintenance and animal husbandry; oversight of experiments being conducted in the lab; Chemical and supply inventory; assisting with experimental setup and execution; curation of data and laboratory protocols; maintaining maintenance records and assisting with annual lab inspection preparation as well as day to day operations of the lab and training of new personnel.
Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum qualifications: Bachelors degree conferred or pending at time of employment. Minimum of 2 years experience working with rodent models. Prior training in rodent handling and behavioral testing, ELISA analysis of biological samples, biological reagent preparation, excellent organizational skills.
Preferred qualifications: Familiarity with Prism software for data analysis, statistical methods, experimental design, and interest in neurobiological impacts of early life stress on brain and behavioral development.
Start date: June 1, 2026.
Work location: Barnard College, RDSC.
Compensation: $28.00/hour (approximately $51,000 annually)
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
