As the Director of Executive Communications, you will serve as a high-visibility strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership team, shaping the authentic voice of the organization’s top tier. This role offers the unique opportunity to translate complex corporate strategies into compelling narratives that resonate with employees, investors, and global stakeholders alike. Operating within a fast-paced, matrixed environment, you will lead the architecture of executive messaging platforms, speechwriting, and high-stakes storytelling across both internal and external channels. You will act as a trusted advisor, navigating sensitive organizational changes and reputational issues with discretion, empathy, and sound judgment. This is a fully remote position that demands operational excellence and the ability to deliver polished, high-impact content on tight timelines. Executive Narrative & Messaging: Develop and own the CEO and C-suite messaging frameworks, ensuring that storylines and key messages are perfectly aligned with corporate strategy, culture, and business outcomes.
Content Creation & Speechwriting: Write and edit high-impact speeches, op-eds, LinkedIn posts, executive emails, and scripts, maintaining a consistent and authoritative executive voice across all mediums.
Strategic Channel Management: Plan and execute a cohesive rhythm of leadership communications, including town halls, all-hands meetings, and leadership updates, in close partnership with internal events and communications teams.
Storytelling & Presentations: Create and refine sophisticated executive decks and narratives for the Board of Directors, customers, and partners, translating dense data into simple, persuasive story arcs.
Visibility & Media Readiness: Support leadership for high-profile interviews, panels, and conferences by preparing briefing documents, message maps, and conducting rehearsals to ensure narrative alignment.
Issues Management: Draft time-sensitive, high-stakes communications for organizational changes or crisis situations, coordinating closely with Legal, HR, and Corporate Communications to ensure accuracy.
Professional Experience: Extensive career background in executive communications, corporate communications, or speechwriting, with a proven track record of supporting CEO or C-suite leaders in complex organizations.
Strategic Storytelling: Exceptional strength in narrative architecture and the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences, including employees, investors, and media outlets.
Executive Partnership: Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, gathering inputs quickly and delivering polished materials under pressure.
Operational Rigor: Strong project management skills, including version control and editorial excellence, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority deadlines simultaneously.
Technical & Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field (advanced degree preferred) and proficiency in the Microsoft 365 suite.
Soft Skills: Superior judgment, a high degree of confidentiality, and the ability to simplify highly technical or complex topics into clear, accessible language.
Competitive Compensation: Estimated base salary range of $165,000 - $244,000, based on location, skills, and experience.
