This role is responsible for leading and evolving the global financial controls framework while overseeing key accounting and financial reporting operations. The Director of Global Controls and Financial Operations will combine strategic leadership with hands-on execution, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency across multiple regions. The position involves managing teams, building practical roadmaps for control maturity, and implementing AI-driven solutions to automate and improve financial processes. - Lead and oversee the global financial controls framework, ensuring alignment with corporate governance standards and applicable regulatory requirements across multiple regions
- Direct accounting operations and financial reporting functions for assigned regions, managing direct reports and fostering hands-on problem solving
- Assess and elevate control maturity in regions with developing standards, creating practical, scalable solutions without overburdening local teams
- Drive day-to-day execution, including building financial models, drafting control documentation, proposing process improvements, and ensuring adoption organization-wide
- Champion AI and automation initiatives within finance and controls, converting manual processes into efficient, high-impact workflows
- Partner with business leaders to translate financial controls into actionable guidance, mitigating risk while maintaining operational agility
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications (CPA, CMA) preferred
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial controls, or audit, ideally in multinational or multi-region organizations
- Strong familiarity with financial systems and tools, such as NetSuite, data platforms, and Excel modeling
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, including writing proposals and developing process improvements
- Deep understanding of compliance requirements, risk management, and the role of controls in enabling business growth
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex control concepts to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Experience working across cultures and regions, tailoring approaches to varying levels of control maturity
- Enthusiasm for AI and automation in finance, with a focus on transforming manual processes into scalable, data-driven solutions
