Position Summary:

Terral RiverService, Inc is seeking a Marine Dispatcher/Analyst for the Baton Rouge. This position is responsible for the efficient coordination of barges and boats throughout inland waterway. This position be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely arrival and departure of boats and barges, as well as communicating with various stakeholders to optimize marine operations. This position will reside in our Baton Rouge office and will reports the Logistics Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

• Oversees and directs the movement of marine assets and reports on their activity.
• Analyzes and communicates logistical solutions for customers utilizing operational resources.
• Builds and maintains relationships with customers and vendors on a regular basis.
• Responsible for invoicing customers for services provided.
• Updates and produces utilization and profitability reports on related marine operations.
• Produce and understand analytical reports to help optimize movements of marine vessels.
• Responsible for updating and maintaining all other related reports and systems supporting.

Skills and Expertise Desired:

• At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Has a valid driver’s license.
• Strong working knowledge of the marine transportation logistics.
• Working knowledge of State and Federal transportation laws and regulations, including The Jones Act.
• Strong analytical and critical decision-making skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong conflict resolution and customer service skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel utilizing data analysis tools, such as, Pivot tables and charts, lookup formulas, and other analysis tools is strongly preferred.
• Proficient in utilizing business office software (Microsoft Office, G-Suite, etc.)

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in transportation, business, engineering, applied mathematics or related field with two

(2) to five (5) years in marine fleet management and dispatching is preferred.

• Other combinations of education and experience will be considered.
