About This Position
Process Engineer
Kernersville, North Carolina
Reports To: Plant Manager
Direct Reports: Maintenance Technicians
Position Summary
The Process Engineer provides technical support for assigned processes and product lines, ensuring operational efficiency, quality compliance, and cost reduction. This role combines engineering expertise with leadership responsibilities to optimize production, reduce cycle times, and drive continuous improvement across Tex-Tech Coatings operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement programs to optimize productivity, reduce cycle time, and minimize manufacturing losses.
- Conduct process and product audits, ensuring adherence to company quality programs and recommending corrective actions.
- Monitor and measure manufacturing performance metrics, and introduce new techniques to enhance quality and minimize waste.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance cost, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in development and manufacturing coordination for new and emerging products.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing manager to manage schedules, order raw materials, troubleshoot production issues, and provide direction to operating teams.
- Train and eventually share supervisory responsibilities for a team of associates, including coaching, training, attendance management, and performance oversight.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related discipline).
- Experience in manufacturing engineering, process optimization, and/or quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Typical manufacturing environment with forklift traffic, concrete floors, and variable temperatures.
- PPE required: safety glasses, safety shoes are recommended, hearing protection, respirator (as needed).
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
