Responsibilities:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial refrigeration systems utilizing ammonia (NH?) and/or Freon to ensure reliable operation.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, and associated refrigeration components.
• Monitor system performance, respond to alarms, and manage emergency situations to protect personnel, product, and equipment.
• Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, IIAR standards, and applicable food safety regulations.
• Safely handle refrigerants and maintain accurate operating logs, compliance records, and maintenance documentation.
• Support refrigeration system startups, shutdowns, modifications, and capital upgrades.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to reduce downtime and maintain continuous production.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to refrigeration-related emergencies.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of industrial refrigeration experience, preferably in food manufacturing or cold storage environments.
• Hands-on experience with ammonia (NH?) refrigeration systems strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of screw and reciprocating compressor systems.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• CIRO, RETA, or equivalent refrigeration certifications preferred.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotation.
• Ability to work safely in cold, hot, and wet conditions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform work at heights.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and best operating practices.
