Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree or radiologic graduate of an AMA accredited program in Radiation Therapy Technology. Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, in Radiation Therapy. Licensed by the Texas Medical Board in Medical Radiologic Technology. BLS certification through American Heart Association.

To provide highly technical skills in the accurate delivery of radiation therapy treatments.
Job Duties:
Salary Range:$85,000 to $126,380 annual salary; Actual salary commensurate with experience.

Job Summary:
To provide highly technical skills in the accurate delivery of radiation therapy treatments.
Job Duties:
- Accurately and efficiently operates treatment machines to deliver prescribed treatment dose. Rotates to all therapy machines, and CT simulator. Performs all prescribed or required procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Generates e-chart for patients using physician's prescription and computerized treatment plans. Reads, interprets, and implements complex treatment plans.
- Operates and manipulates the mechanical motions of complex radiation-emitting treatment machines, simulators, and CT scanners.
- Assures radiation safety to protect patients and personnel.
- Demonstrates understanding of radiation therapy treatment techniques and treatment rational.
- Maintains written and computerized records of daily treatments and daily charges as required.
- Synthesizes information and instructions from medical and physics staff to assure accuracy of dose calculations, field placement and use of beam altering devices.
- Evaluates and assesses treatment machine operations; Assists in commissioning, calibration, quality assurance, and physical measurements as appropriate for system accuracy.
- Prepares and educates patients for radiation therapy treatments; Administers radiotherapy treatment and monitors patient during treatment
- Communicates clearly and concisely with all members of the health care team, patients and families. Practices effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Monitors patients' clinical progress; withholds treatment if necessary and refers patients to medical or nursing staff for appropriate intervention.
- Assists in training and evaluation of student therapists.
- Adheres to internal quality controls, policies, and procedures established by UTMB and the department. Maintains valid licenses and certifications as required by UTMB and state law
