Machine Operator III at ELMET TECHNOLOGIES LLC – Coldwater, Michigan

POSITION SUMMARY
This person will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment to meet production requirements related to quality, cost, and delivery. Additionally, this person will perform machine setups, monitor production processes, and support equipment maintenance while maintaining accurate production records and inventory control.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
• Operate production equipment safely and efficiently to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals
• Perform machine setups and product changeovers according to production schedules
• Monitor production processes and adjust as needed to maintain performance standards
• Cross-train on multiple pieces of equipment to support operational flexibility
• Use measuring devices and basic math to verify product quality
• Perform daily equipment inspections (TPR) and maintain 5S housekeeping standards
• Assist with minor repairs and troubleshooting of production equipment
• Maintain accurate lot traceability throughout the production process
• Operate industrial equipment including forklifts, cranes, and other material handling tools
• Accurately complete production documentation including OEE tracking, logs, work orders, and system entries (Global Shop)
• Support inventory control processes including Kanban systems
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Work assigned 2nd shift hours, including weekends and overtime as required
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
• 3–5 years of manufacturing experience required
• High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent experience
• Ability to operate and maintain licenses for forklifts and overhead cranes
• Basic math and measurement skills required
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated safe work history and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to handle a fast-paced production environment and manage multiple tasks
• Regular, reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime as needed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Routinely performs duties in a manufacturing environment
• Must be able to stand, walk, and move for extended periods during a full shift
• Must be able to bend, reach, lift, and perform repetitive tasks
• Exposure to manufacturing conditions including noise, heat, and moving equipment
• Must be able to safely operate industrial equipment and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
