About This Position
General Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Long Haul OTR Driver is to drive trucks loaded with transport bulk oil to and from specified long distance destinations. The Long Haul OTR Driver is also responsible ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Drives truck to out-of-state terminal to load product, for example Texas.
- Drives truck to and from specified destinations delivering bulk oil products.
- Loads and unloads product in and out of truck by connecting hoses from truck tank to storage tank.
- Delivers packaged goods as needed.
- Delivers product to customer by following instructions on invoice.
- Maintains log book to state and federal regulations.
- Occasionally collects payment for products delivered.
- Flushes and cleans tanker after deliveries are complete or before new product is loaded.
- Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
- Inspects truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water which includes pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Performs roadside assistance as needed, such as changing tires and installing light bulbs.
- Uses safety equipment, such as fire extinguisher and spill kits, as needed.
- Maintains relationship with customers by using good customer service skills.
- Cross-trains with other drivers and warehouse personnel.
- Occasionally may be required to drive other trucks and deliver other products.
- Performs warehouse duties as needed.
- Keeps truck cab clean and neat.
- Responsible for the completion of special projects or the assignment of other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Class A license with Tanker endorsements. Hazmat endorsement preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years OTR hauling experience preferred.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Knowledge of general area in which product will be delivered.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Legible handwriting.
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public and to understand traffic signs, to make entries on reports and records.
- Possession of a current Medical Examiner’s certificate.
- Knowledge of procedures to secure cargo in or on a commercial vehicle.
- Ability to successfully complete forklift certification test.

Working Environment:
The work of this position is performed in both inside and outside environments in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. The position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, and climbing is required. In this position, associates may be exposed to hazardous materials, vapors, fumes, and extreme weather conditions. Proper PPE is provided for employees working in these conditions.
