About This Position

Position Description: HBG Design is seeking an Interior Design Intern to serve as an integral contributor to our nationally recognized project design and delivery teams. Reporting to the Intern Supervisor, the intern position will receive mentorship and guidance throughout the course of the semester, and opportunities for open engagement with seasoned staff in order to get the most from this hands-on learning experience. REVIT training, in-depth photoshop training, and invitations to special presentations by vendors and educators are provided. The successful candidate should be a proactive participant in their learning and professional growth and will be expected to complete all assignments and tasks according to schedule and deadlines as outlined by the intern mentor and Lead Interior Designer or Senior Interior Designer. An intern mentor will support the intern in tracking hours that may apply towards licensure during the 13-18 week internship. Job Advertisement:

Position Responsibilities:
Develop solutions to technical and design problems following established standards.
Assist in project documentation from schematic design to construction documents.
Assist in the selection and specification of Interior materials and products.
Conducts material and project research and assists with material boards for client presentations.
Actively contribute to the maintenance and organization of the Interior Design Materials Library.
Prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings.
Actively participate in team meetings, charettes, and architectural forums.
Take responsibility for active communication with your university and submit any college related curriculum requirements and documents as required.

Qualifications:
Currently be enrolled in a 4-year CIDA accredited Interior Design or Interior Architecture program.
Previous internships within the A/E/C field preferred.
Possess basic hand and REVIT/BIM drafting skills and understanding of conceptual design process.
Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign graphic software preferred.
Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work in team environment.

The Compensation:
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, regional cost of living, experience, and qualifications.
