The City of Summit is seeking a detail-orientedand skilled Senior Engineering Aide to join our team. This role involves engineeringwork, including calculations, records maintenance, land surveys, costestimates, inspections, and related engineering tasks. The successful candidatewill work under the guidance of professional engineering staff but is expectedto perform with limited supervision. Position responsibilities include but arenot limited to conducting property, topographical, and construction surveysusing transit, level, and rod, including making related calculations; Inspectingconstruction projects, documenting progress, defects, and other observations; Preparingconstruction cost estimates, draft plans, and create presentations; Maintainingand organize files of permits, maps, and other records; Responding to publicinquiries and complaints, escalating complex issues as needed; Recording deedson tax maps and file related reports and correspondence; and Supporting theoperation and billing of the municipal disposal area. The ideal candidate musthave a valid New Jersey driver's license, strong problem-solving,organizational, and communication skills, commitment to customer service andteamwork, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
