About the RoleImperial Golf Club is seeking an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Specialist to oversee and perform all pesticide applications across two 18-hole golf courses and clubhouse grounds. This is a hands-on, working role responsible for ensuring safe, effective, and compliant pest management practices while supervising two IPM Technicians.
This position is critical to maintaining the health, safety, and playability of the golf courses and requires a self-directed, detail-oriented professional committed to excellence. The IPM Specialist will report to the First Assistant Superintendent and Golf Course Superintendent and will take ownership of all IPM-related operations, equipment, and regulatory compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform and oversee pesticide applications across golf courses and clubhouse grounds
Supervise and train two IPM Technicians in safe handling, mixing, and application practices
Maintain pesticide inventory, equipment calibration, and application records in compliance with state and federal regulations
Identify, diagnose, and treat pest, weed, and turfgrass disease issues
Ensure environmental stewardship and personal safety in all IPM operations
Maintain accurate records related to pesticide use, safety training, and compliance
Valid Florida Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
Agricultural degree preferred; 5–6 years of turfgrass experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Strong knowledge of pesticide application methods, turfgrass science, and safety standards
Ability to train, supervise, and lead a small team
Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Valid driver’s license required
Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) a plus
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and sun exposure
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods of time
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
Ability to safely handle, mix, and apply pesticides in accordance with safety guidelines and PPE requirements
Ability to operate spray equipment, spreaders, and related application machinery
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as operationally necessary
