The Staff Accountant is responsible for advanced cash applications and a major portion of pre and month-end closing functions for the Accounting department.

• Create Daily Deposit Report from City National Bank activity into Master Rec
• Create weekly Outstanding Checks Report from City National Bank activity
• Update Master Rec with downloaded City National and PFW activity and make JE’s weekly for all non-upload activity
• Responsible for General Receivables Rec by moving corresponding bank account activity. Also download activity for all locations and both closed to cash and CC GL’s and compare CC Info for locations to AMEX/2CP/Merchant Accts
• Responsible for Region Reconciliations matching daily activities from PFW to Region/City National
• Responsible for collecting and copying dailies from all 6 locations, label and match deposits within reconciliation, and email A/R to inform daily reports received.
• Research outstanding returned payments and send report to A/R
• In regard to City National Concentration Account :
• Enter manual checks /voids in City National for Positive Pay
• upload check runs for Positive Pay
• Upload ACH payments from AP
• Virtual payments upload virtual payments
  • EOM Entry – compile and upload sweep entry including cash checks and CC deposits
  • Monthly Activities include:
    • Verify all final business day pending Lockbox 8393 checks are posted to AR
    • Check final business day bank activity to verify everything posted to AR/AP
    • Verify all entries that impact AR from Rec are posted
    • Clear Checks; Run Outstanding to tie;; Run ME Check Reports; 10010, 10020, 10050, 25170
    • Download Bank Statements
    • Code all items in the sweep. Input TB figures into EOM tab in master rec.
    • Submit sweep entry for review
    • Download and consolidate CC Statement
    • CC Merchant Fees - finalize spreadsheet. ROA analysis done a few days before end of month and double checked on business day 1
• Consolidate bank checklist
  • Inspect bank statements for month end
  • Compare bank statements to balance per reconciliation

Required education and experience

• 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Other Accounting Certification and 5 years of work experience may be considered in lieu of a 4 year degree
