About This Position

About the Role:

As a Part Time COTA at Morgan Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for patients through tailored therapeutic interventions. Your primary focus will be on helping individuals regain their independence and improve their functional abilities following injury, illness, or disability. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient. This position requires a deep understanding of various rehabilitation techniques, particularly in geriatric and neurological populations. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to the overall well-being and recovery of patients, enabling them to participate fully in their daily lives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required COTA education
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a COTA.
  • Experience in rehabilitation settings, particularly with geriatric patients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and social needs to inform treatment planning.
  • Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans based on assessment findings.
  • Utilize therapeutic techniques and modalities to enhance patients' functional abilities and promote independence.
  • Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Document patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.

Skills:

The required skills in Therapy and Rehabilitation will be utilized daily to assess and treat patients effectively. Your expertise in Geriatric Rehabilitation will guide your interactions with older adults, ensuring that their specific needs are met. Preferred skills, such as experience with EHR systems, will streamline documentation processes and improve communication within the healthcare team.
