Accounts Payable Manager

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Accounts Payable Manager in the United States.

This role is a key finance leadership position responsible for overseeing the full accounts payable function while driving operational efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement. The Accounts Payable Manager leads a team managing vendor payments, invoice processing, and financial controls in a fast-paced, data-driven environment. The role combines hands-on accounting oversight with strategic process optimization, including automation and AI-driven improvements. It plays a critical part in ensuring financial integrity, supporting month-end close activities, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Working closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams, the position ensures compliance, efficiency, and scalability of AP operations. It is well suited for a detail-oriented leader who thrives in process transformation and team development.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Accounts Payable team, ensuring effective workload distribution, performance management, and professional growth.
  • Oversee AP inbox management and ensure timely resolution of vendor and internal inquiries within service standards.
  • Design and improve AP processes by implementing automation tools and AI-driven solutions for invoice processing, matching, and exception handling.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as cycle time, accuracy rates, and processing efficiency to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Manage all payment operations including ACH, wire transfers, checks, and virtual cards with strong control and compliance standards.
  • Partner with finance and operations teams to optimize cash flow, payment timing, and vendor terms.
  • Ensure accurate general ledger coding, accruals, and support for month-end close activities and financial reporting.
  • Oversee vendor onboarding, master data integrity, and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as primary liaison for internal and external audits related to accounts payable.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in accounts payable and general ledger accounting.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an accounting management or supervisory role.
  • Strong experience working with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including formulas such as VLOOKUP and SUMIF.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
