About This Position
Major Responsibilities/Activities
The Coordinator will oversee the coordination and management of Direct Support Professionals and day services for individual with intellectual disabilities. The primary mission of the Coordinator is to oversee and ensure the quality and comprehensiveness of services for the individuals we serve. This requires that the Coordinator knows the individual and understands his/her needs, strengths, and preferences. The Coordinator collaborates with area agencies, state agencies, family members, guardians, medical and mental health providers, and others in the community to make sure individuals are safe, their particular needs are met, and their lives are as rich and fulfilling as possible.
Other Responsibilities
• Maintain strong, respectful relationships with the individuals served.
• Ensure that the health and safety needs of individuals who receive services are met consistent with COMAR, Centers for Medicaid Services, Maryland Board of Nursing regulation, accreditation standards, and Maximum Support Services policies and procedures.
• Understand the various roles of Maximum Support Services staff and works collaboratively.
• Demonstrate excellent planning skills and have reliable follow through skills.
• Respond to incidents in a timely manner.
• Attend new intake meetings
• Attend and monitor agency’s participation in annual Person Centered Plan meetings.
• Work closely with the Recruiter to schedule, interview, and hire new staff.
• Ensure that staff are scheduled for shifts, and that staff are using Maximum Support Services time management system.
• Ensure that appropriate documentation is completed as scheduled in the agency’s record keeping systems, including electronic record system
• Review documentation for accuracy
• Conduct visits to homes and sites for individuals served.
• Be on-call 24/7
• Other administrative tasks and duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Experience
• Associates Degree preferred, plus two years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities and one year of supervisory experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by the Agency’s insurance carrier and Agency policy.

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
