Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Pipeline Technical Artist in Spain.
This is a highly technical and cross-functional role at the intersection of pipeline engineering and game development, focused on building and maintaining robust digital content creation workflows. You will act as the central technical authority for DCC tools, ensuring smooth integration across rigging, modeling, animation, and environment art disciplines. The role requires both deep technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to align multiple teams around shared standards and tool ownership. You will be responsible for consolidating fragmented tools into a unified, reliable pipeline that supports efficient content creation. Operating in a fully remote, collaborative game development environment, you will help shape how artists interact with core production tools. This is a key individual contributor position where communication and coordination are as critical as coding ability.
- Own the DCC Tools domain as the primary technical expert supporting rigging, modeling, animation, and environment art teams.
- Define and maintain clear interfaces between pipeline engineering and art departments, establishing ownership boundaries and workflow handoffs.
- Consolidate, standardize, and document DCC toolsets across Maya, 3DS Max, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, Photoshop, and asset export pipelines.
- Develop, maintain, and improve Python-based tools and automation systems supporting content creation workflows.
- Research and prototype new pipeline strategies to improve production efficiency and scalability.
- Act as a key coordination point between technical and artistic stakeholders, ensuring clarity in tools, processes, and responsibilities.
- Support and improve asset export pipelines and cross-discipline content workflows.
- Continuously evaluate and refine tools and processes to improve usability, stability, and production efficiency.
- 5+ years of experience in Technical Art, Pipeline Engineering, or related roles, ideally within the games industry.
- Expert-level Python programming skills with strong understanding of object-oriented design principles.
- Strong experience with at least one major DCC tool such as 3DS Max or Substance Painter/Designer, alongside Maya experience preferred.
- Solid experience with production tracking systems integrated within DCC environments.
- Deep understanding of artist workflows across rigging, modeling, animation, and environment art disciplines.
- Hands-on experience with asset export pipelines and end-to-end content production workflows.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
- High level of autonomy, strong time management, and ability to prioritize in fast-paced production environments.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to quickly learn new technical domains.
- Ability to build trust and credibility across multiple creative disciplines.
- Fully remote work environment with global flexibility.
- Generous paid time off allowance.
- Separate summer and winter studio shutdown periods in addition to PTO.
- Private medical and dental healthcare coverage.
- Private mental health support scheme.
- Annual health and wellbeing allowance.
- Discretionary studio bonus.
- High-end equipment provided for remote setup.
- Additional regional benefits depending on location.
- Autonomy-driven culture focused on trust, transparency, and meaningful work.
- Strong emphasis on work-life balance and sustainable development practices.
- Opportunity to contribute to a high-impact, long-term game development project.
