Who We Are

Cornell Forge is a recognized leader in the forging industry with a longstanding reputation for producing complex parts. Our facility is located just south of Chicago in Bedford Park.

We are currently recruiting for a Trim Die Maker. The primary role of the Trim Die Maker position is to build high quality progressive and single hit metal stamping dies to close tolerances to produce a quality part that meets drawing specifications.

Essential Functions:

• Interpret blueprints and use necessary tools and measuring equipment to fabricate, repair or modify new or existing tooling.
• Fabricate and assemble various fixtures and templates.
• Diagnose die problems and make necessary repairs.
• Safely and proficiently operate all toolroom equipment including surface grinders, milling machines, and lathes.
• Welding skills necessary
• Working knowledge of quality inspection gauges is required.
• Perform other tasks as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• 1-3 years’ experience in a related field
• Welding training and experience required.
• Positive attitude and team player
• Proven history of an excellent work performance, reliability and attendance
• Strives for continuous improvement.
• Ability to apply good judgement and make decisions independently.
