2nd Shift Lead - Saw Shop at Big 3 Precision Products Inc – Centralia, Illinois

Responsible for overseeing the daily operations for 2nd shift within the laser operating and saw shop, ensuring the safe, efficient, and quality production of parts according to specifications and production schedule. This role involves leading, managing, and coaching a team of machine operators, troubleshooting, and ensuring all safety and quality protocols are strictly followed.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Team Leadership & Supervision: Supervise and direct shift employees, assign tasks, manage workflow, and monitor performance to ensure production goals are met.
• Safety & Compliance: Champion a safe working environment by enforcing all company policies, safety guidelines (OSHA standards), and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct regular safety checks and address hazards immediately.
• Production Operations: Oversee the daily operations of laser cutting machines and various saws, ensuring all machinery operates efficiently and safely.
• Quality Control: Monitor production output to ensure all products meet engineering specs and quality standards.
• Training & Development: Assist with training new team members on machine operation, safety procedures, and quality standards, and maintain training records.
• Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and operational issues with equipment and product quality promptly. Coordinate with the maintenance department for regular equipment service and repairs.

Education & Experience Requirements

· Proven experience of 2-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically with laser cutting and saw operation.

· Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
