JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Utility Worker 2

Supervisor: Shift/Area Supervisor

Department: Plant 1

FLSA Status: Hourly

Summary: Responsible for completing production work in a timely manner with acceptable quality.

Essential Duties

1. Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area in compliance with OSHA requirements and Plant 1’s safety committee's regulations.
2. Personal productivity expectation is 40% of established norms with 100% quality.
3. Maintain all machines and tools in designated work area in a neat and clean condition reporting any malfunctions to the Shift/Area Supervisor.
4. Perform work according to established written procedures.
5. Report to work area promptly at the start of scheduled shift. Return from breaks and lunch periods on time.
6. Keep supervisor advised of tools, equipment, and/or material needs in order to ensure the timely completion of scheduled production.
7. Report all accidents to the Shift/Area Supervisor.
8. If unable to attend work notify the supervisor within thirty minutes of the beginning of the shift.
9. Ensure through first piece inspection with Q.C. that all jobs are set up accurately.
10. Monitor quality to insure product being run is of acceptable quality at all times, notifying Shift/Area Supervisor if quality is sub-standard.
11. All other duties deemed necessary.
12. May be required to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and if required lift and move over 100 pounds with assistance.
13. Additional hours if needed are mandatory.

Education and/or Experience:

Prefer previous experience in manufacturing processes.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties. Some of the tools this person may be required to use are: pneumatic nail guns (weight up to 20lb), air ratchets, impact wrenches, air sanders, pneumatic screwdriver, hand routers, banding tensioners, pry bars, and hammers. As well as a variety of wood working and metal shop equipment: table saws, miter saws, gang saws, band saws, and presses. This is a small representative of tooling and equipment that may be utilized by this position.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate but occasionally loud. Use of Personal Protective Equipment such as protective eyewear and gloves is occasionally required.
