About This Position
The Sales Engineer will sell products and/or services offered by Progress Paper Tubes (PPT) to current and new clientele. This position reports directly to the CCO of PPT.

· Builds and maintains a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads.
· Works closely with Customer Service to determine and develop new target Customers.
· Initiates regular Customer visits both inside and outside the plant.
· Works closely with Production, Engineering, Management and R&D to determine the market potential of new product ideas, to gather market data, and to perform testing of new products prior to market presentation., especially when proving beneficial to Customers.
· Responsible for presenting quotations for review and obtaining appropriate approvals prior to submitting the quotations to customers.
· Maintains pricing metrics in coordination with Customer Service and Finance.
· Proactively and continuously brainstorms and shares information with the leadership teams and/or any appropriate departments when it proves beneficial.
· Facilitates the preparation and delivery of sales samples for prospective Customers.
· Assists with problem solving regarding product issues.
· Assists in monitoring and evaluating activities and products of competitors.
· Maintains clear and direct lines of communication throughout the organization, as needed, in order to meet customer requirements.
· Makes recommendations on improvements to manufacturing/design of items in the product line.
· Represents the company at trade association meetings and shows to promote products.
· Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs; identifies and suggests products and services to meet those needs.
· Demonstrates the functions and utility of products or services to customers based on their needs.
· Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale.
· Assists in the development of sales forecasts.
· Maintains communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.
· Maintains detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
· Provides periodic territory sales forecasts.

Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS:
· Possesses excellent interpersonal, sales, customer service, organizational and negotiation skills.
· Attentive to detail.
· Must have direct experience developing, maintaining, and analyzing financial and accounting records preferably in a manufacturing environment.
· Must work with the highest degree of accuracy in all work performed.

· Must be able to motivate others to achieve and maintain excellence.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business (or the equivalence of relevant experience) is required with a preferred five years of experience in outside sales, preferably within paper tubes or a relative industry.

· Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods while working at a computer or desk.
· Must be able to move about on sales calls, in the office and on the production floor, and access file cabinets, office equipment, and meeting spaces.
· Must be able to occasionally position self to stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach to retrieve or organize materials.
· Must have the ability to observe details at close range, such as reviewing financial data, spreadsheets, and reports.
· Must be able to occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 25–50 lbs., (e.g., boxes of records, equipment, or office supplies).
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment described below is representative of the surroundings a Team Member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
· Primarily office environment with frequent visits to Customer locations, as well as the manufacturing floor.
· Personal protective equipment is required when visiting restricted areas as defined within the hazard analysis sheet defined for this position.
· Regional travel within a 150-mile radius should be expected regularly. Periodic plane travel to travel further distances may be required upon occasion.
