About This Position

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex manufacturing and facility equipment to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and performance. This role serves as a technical expert, provides guidance to junior technicians, and supports continuous improvement initiatives across operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform advanced preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues
  • Act as escalation support for critical equipment failures and lead root cause analysis
  • Install, qualify, and support new equipment and upgrades
  • Develop, review, and improve maintenance procedures, SOPs, and work instructions
  • Mentor and train technicians and equipment operators
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and EHS teams
  • Monitor equipment performance and downtime; recommend reliability improvements
  • Manage spare parts, tooling, and maintenance documentation within CMMS
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
Requirements:

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance within a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of experience PLC, automation and/or electrical
  • Experience supporting automated or high-precision equipment preferred
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and PLC troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&IDs
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, robotics, or automation systems
  • Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Leadership and mentoring skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities
  • Ability to work flexible hours during peak season (May-September)
