About This Position
Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex manufacturing and facility equipment to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and performance. This role serves as a technical expert, provides guidance to junior technicians, and supports continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform advanced preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues
- Act as escalation support for critical equipment failures and lead root cause analysis
- Install, qualify, and support new equipment and upgrades
- Develop, review, and improve maintenance procedures, SOPs, and work instructions
- Mentor and train technicians and equipment operators
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and EHS teams
- Monitor equipment performance and downtime; recommend reliability improvements
- Manage spare parts, tooling, and maintenance documentation within CMMS
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance within a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of experience PLC, automation and/or electrical
- Experience supporting automated or high-precision equipment preferred
- Strong mechanical, electrical and PLC troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&IDs
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, robotics, or automation systems
- Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Leadership and mentoring skills
- Effective communication and teamwork
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Ability to work flexible hours during peak season (May-September)
