Empire Electric Maintenance is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Electrical Engineer to support the design, planning, and implementation of electrical systems across a wide range of projects. This role offers hands-on exposure to real-world electrical applications in residential and commercial settings. As a Junior Electrical Engineer, youll assist senior engineers and field teams with system layouts, calculations, code compliance, troubleshooting, and morehelping deliver reliable, efficient, and code-compliant electrical solutions.

Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the design and layout of electrical systems for new and existing construction projects
Conduct field inspections, collect site data, and support installation planning
Work closely with project managers, electricians, and clients to ensure design intent and safety standards are met
Review and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
Research and apply applicable codes and standards (NEC, OSHA, local building codes)
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and project submittals
Help troubleshoot and resolve design or installation issues in real-time
Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives where applicable
Participate in quality assurance checks and ensure adherence to best practices
Contribute to continuous improvement in engineering processes and safety protocols
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (required)
3-5+ years of electrical engineering experience; internship or co-op experience a plus
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other design and modeling software
Basic understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and general safety standards
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in both office and field environments
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites across Long Island and surrounding areas

Evening and weekend work may be required based on project needs
